The protection of ancient cities is a tough problem worldwide. There is also a problem
emerged in the new round of protection of ancient city Suzhou. In order to further realize
the dynamic balance between economic development and ancient city protection, and promote the
ability of sustainable development for the ancient city, there is a need to further resolve
ideological and conceptual issues so as to deepen understanding; to further overcome
practical operational problems so as to re-optimize plans; to further deal with the issues of
organization and coordination so as to improve mechanisms.
