摘要:
福克纳的系列短篇小说“大森林三部曲”以美国北方资本主义大工业生产替代南方种植园主经济的历史变革为背景, 前瞻性地揭示了人类工业文明对自然环境造成的破坏。小说融合了后殖民理论和生态批评两个领域, 体现了“后殖民生态主义”关于殖民生态扩张主义、种族与物种主义、干预倡导主义等方面的核心理念。但是, 小说受作者固有的历史局限仍未摆脱白人中心主义和南方种植园主阶层的思想桎梏。
Abstract:
Faulkner’s series of short novels Forest Trilogy was shaped under the background of historical transition of the North American capitalist industrial production replacing the economic development of the southern plantation, and predictively revealed the destruction of the natural environment by human industrial civilization. The novel combines the two areas of postcolonial theory and ecological criticism, which embodies the core ideas of“postcolonial ecologism”on colonial ecological expansionism, race and speciesism, and intervention advocacy. However, given the historical limitations of the novel by the author, the ideological shackles of whitecentralism and the idea of the southern plantation class remain unshaken.
