Reasonable application of meteorological and hydrological conditions is able to assist ships
to avoid bad sea conditions, shorten voyages, reduce damage at sea, ensure the safety of crew
and passengers, and improve ship’s operational efficiency. Guarantee of effective
meteorological and hydrological support can provide accurate meteorological and hydrological
data and forecasts timely, and provide suggestions and measures for voyage planning to avoid
unfavorable meteorological and hydrological conditions. It is of great significance for the
enforcement of law on coastguard naval ships. On the basis of obtaining the basic connotation
of meteorological and hydrological support on coastguard naval ships, it analyzes the
existing problems and proposes countermeasures for further improvement so as to make up for
the shortcomings of current meteorological and hydrological support, which effectively
ensures smooth implementation of the law enforcement tasks on coastguard naval ships.
